International Film Festival of Kerala

International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK 2007) beginning Thiruvananthapuram on December 7. Festival ended o December 14. Hundred of films will show the festival. Retrospectives of world famous film directors like Jiri Menzel, Pedro Almodovar, Im Kwon Taek is the special of IFFIK. Homage of film pioneers Ingmar Bergman, Michelangelo Antonioni, Istvan gal, Ousmane Sembene, Edward Yang, K.K. Mahajan also included in the festival.


The film culture of Kerala is renowned all over the world. Various kinds of cinema festivals help the state to cultivate there film culture. In past decades very impressive films and skilled directors were leads the state in top of Indian offbeat film field. But in present condition they can’t keep the previous level of films. Most of the contemporary cinemas from the state is too bad and worsen. No new style, no change, no new faces etc…


But in other side, Kerala film lovers enjoy and sow more and more foreign films. IffK help them to create a new and efficient film culture. So we can wait and see the resent festival of Kerala.
